I live in Kensal Rise, a lovely part of North West London that feels so close to all the exciting stuff happening in London but far enough away that I can get a break.
One of the best things about living in Kensal Rise is my local cinema, the Lexi Cinema. I’m a member and every year it’s always worth the investment. The Lexi Cinema is a fantastic social enterprise. Run by a fantastic dedicated team of volunteers and every penny they make in profit goes to their charity the Sustainability Institute.
Every year the Lexi Cinema’s sister project, The Nomad Cinema takes place. The Nomad has earned the reputation as ‘London’s best outdoor cinema’ [Evening Standard], they pop up in beautiful and inspiring screening locations across London and beyond.
And like their sister cinema, all of their profits go to the Sustainability Institute.
Now you can join in
The Nomad Cinema are looking for volunteers to help them with their 2016 programme. So what are you waiting for? You not only get the opportunity to see good films but you are also giving back to a local London community and helping a charity overseas do amazing work, changing lives.
